Remarks
Parandania boecki was originally described based on a single specimen with material collected from the Brazilian state of Pernambuco at a depth of 1234 m during the Challenger Expedition ( Stebbing 1888). Therefore, in this study the bathymetric range of the species is expanded from 1234 to 1880– 1950 m deep. Over the years, it was found that the species has a very broad geographic distribution, with a clear predominance in the southern hemisphere ( De Broyer et al. 2007).
The female individual collected in this study agrees with the original description of Stebbing (1888), as well as other studies that involved this species ( Schellenberg 1926; J.L. Barnard 1961; Moore 1992), in the following characters: antenna 1 ( Figure 17a View Figure 17 ) articles short; flagellum article 1 broad, elongate, bearing dense row of callynophores; accessory flagellum curved and as long as first article of the primary flagellum; maxilla 2 ( Figure 17b View Figure 17 ) inner plate densely setose and much larger than outer; gnathopods 1–2 ( Figure 17c–d View Figure 17 ) propodus tapering distally, palm strongly acute; uropods 1–3 ( Figure 17e–g View Figure 17 ) similar, peduncle much longer than rami; telson ( Figure 17h View Figure 17 ) short and subtriangular. This is the second record of the species from Brazilian waters.
Type locality

Distribution and bathymetry
Pan-oceanic, from shallow waters up to 3700 m deep ( De Broyer et al. 2007; Serejo and Siqueira 2018). Slope of Rio Grande do Norte state (between 4.4405°S, 36.4308°W and 4.4905°S, 36.4026°W), Brazil, between 1880 and 1950 m deep (current study) ( Figure 23 View Figure 23 ).
