Distribution. Palearctic and adventive in North America. Canada: NS. USA (NCR): NH (NSR).
Collection and Habitat data. Many NH specimens were captured in meadow sods on mowed portions of UNH properties, and from hemlock and forest leaf litters from September to October. In NS taken in scolytine galleries under bark of dead white pine ( Pinus strobus L.) (Majka and Klimaszewski 2008c). In Europe taken in moist areas, preferring rich soils and frequenting shores with dense vegetation, and is abundant in leaf-litter under Salix bushes.
