Distribution. Nearctic, widely distributed, reported from A/S ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). Canada: BC, MB, NB, NF, NS, NT, ON, QC, SK. USA: AR, AZ, CO, FL, IL, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, PA, RI, SD, UT, VA, WI.

Collection and Habitat data. Adults were captured from May to August in NH by flight intercept traps (FIT), by processing old river drift with a Berlese, and by pitfall traps in a pine-oak barrens and a riverside nettle zone. Elsewhere found in river margins in flood debris, drift material and decaying grass and litter, lake margins in drift material, temporary creek margins in debris, hardwood forests and swampy areas in leaves and debris, Carex marsh in leaf litter and moss; also, in an old American beaver ( Castor canadensis Kuhl ) lodge, in debris on beaver dam (common), and in carrion ( Klimaszewski et al. 2018).
