Distribution. Nearctic, transcontinental in Canada, reported from A/Sw ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). Canada: AB, BC, LB, MB, NB, NF, NS, ON, QC. USA: AK, CA, ME (NSR), NC, NH, NY, PA, RI, WA.

Collection and Habitat data. The NH/ME specimens were taken primarily by flight intercept and window traps, as well as by sifting leaf litters near streams and examining fungi in boreal and deciduous forests. Adults were collected from May to September, with most specimens taken in September. In Canada found in various coniferous, mixed, and hardwood forests, usually in decaying organic materials such as rotting fungi in various stages of decay, dung, and carrion; in decaying corncobs and cornhusks near mixed forest, alder swamp on remains of dead deer, some from leaf litter and scat under great horned owl nest in hardwood forest ( Klimaszewski et al. 2018, 2021).
