Description of Aquaticitalea lipolytica HMF 9403
Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, flagellated, long rod-shaped bacterium (0.2-0.3 μm wide, 10.9-13.0 μm long). Colonies GoogleMaps grown on marine agar are yellow, circular, convex, and smooth. Oxidase GoogleMaps activity is positive. In the API 20NE test, cells are positive for hydrolysis of aesculin and gelatin, but negative for nitrate reduction; indole production; glucose fermentation; activity of arginine dihydrolase, urease, and β -galactosidase; and assimilation of D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain HMF9403 (= NIBRBAC000503118) was isolated from a seawater sample collected from Gangneung, Republic of Korea (37°49 ʹ 54.0 ʺ N, 128°52 ʹ 41.0 ʺ E).
