External morphology. Medium size, robust species. General color dark brown with small yellow spots on veins of forewings, cells translucent; mesonotum and pronotum black with small yellow markings; crown tannish; eyes grey; face yellow except for black clypeus, black center and black lenticular markings on lateral anterior corners of clypellus ( Plate 3H). Head very broad, nearly as wide as pronotum, anterior margin broadly rounded; crown short, broad, slightly broader than width of eyes, produced slightly, lateral margins slightly convex, disk depressed medially; eyes large, semiglobular; pronotum about ¼ longer than median length of crown, surface prominently bullated; mesonotum large, nearly twice median length of pronotum; forewings typical; clypeus broad, lateral margins narrowly convex; clypellus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, base broad, inflated medially in basal half, lateral margins constricted medially.

Male genitalia. Pygofer small, dorsal margin humped in basal half, few setae on apex of caudoventral margin ( Fig. 187); left subgenital plate long, narrow, glabrous ( Fig. 188); style elongate, shorter than aedeagus, apophysis broad ( Figs. 189, 190); aedeagus long, tubular, in lateral view sinuate, with long bifurcate processes, outer process dentate ( Figs. 191, 192); connective broadly Y-shaped, stem short, broad, membranous medially ( Fig. 193); dorsal connective long, narrow, base attached to base of aedeagal socle ( Fig. 191).

Material examined. Holotype male. COLOMBIA: Amazonas , PNN Amacayuca Cabaña Lovena, 3º0’S.– 69º59’W., 210 m., 27 Aug 01–01/ Sep 01, M.2237, Malaise, D. Compos [No collector]( IAHC). GoogleMaps

Etymology. The name is descriptive for the configuration of the aedeagal processes.

Remarks. This species is nearest to D. bispinata , sp. nov. and can be distinguished by the smaller genitalia, bifurcation of the aedeagal spines with setal arrangement and the small broad stem of the connective.
