Length. Male 8.00 mm; female unknown.

External morphology. General color of dorsum black with yellow to ivory markings; forewings with veins black, basal half of clavus ivory, 2 translucent broken transverse bands; mesonotum black with ivory markings on each of side of middle and lateral margins; pronotum black with irregular ivory transverse band on anterior margin, narrow ivory transverse band on posterior margin; crown black with longitudual yellow stripe medially and on lateral margins; eyes grey; clypeus and clypellus black with yellow longitudinal stripe medially, yellow stripe below each eye ( Plate 5A). Head narrower than pronotum, anterior margin obtusely rounded; crown narrower than width of eyes, lateral margins convergent basally; pronotum moderately large, shorter than crown; mesonotum large, about half as long as pronotum; forewings typical; clypeus elongate, lateral margins broadly convex; slightly excised near middle; clypellus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, inflated and broad basally, apex flared.

Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view triangulate, small digitate lobe on caudodorsal margin ( Fig. 275); right subgenital plate long, narrow, glabrous ( Fig. 276); style shorter than aedeagus, broad, in lateral view broadly lobed on ectal margin, digitate apically ( Figs. 277, 278); aedeagus in lateral view inflated medially, tubular throughout in dorsal view, setaceous medially and subapically ( Figs. 279, 280); connective Y-shaped, stem very short, membranous on each side of longitudinal ridge ( Fig. 281); dorsal connective long, strap shape, slightly expanded basally ( Fig. 282), attached to base of aedeagal socle ( Fig. 279).

Etymology. This species is a patronym named after Dr. Murray Fletcher for his outstanding work on leafhoppers of the Australian biogeographical region.

Remarks. This species is nearest to E. lyrata , sp. nov. and can be distinguished by greater number of spines (6) on the aedeagal shaft and configuration of the style which is narrower in basal 1/3.
