Key to the pupae of known species of the genus Phyllobius Germar, 1824 View in CoL

Based on descriptions of: P. pomaceus (Roberts 1926) ; P. oblongus (Vollmann 1954) ; P. pyri s. str. and P. intrusus (present paper). - Included are all available species descriptions.

1. Rostrum without rs. Vs similar in shape and length as in other setae on head and rostrum. Pronotal setae only hair-like, always 3–4 times longer than their protuberances. Dorsal abdominal setae of one segment different in shape and length; odd ones distinct, hair-like; even ones poorly visible, hair-like................................................................................................ P. intrusus Kôno, 1948 View in CoL (= Parascythopus exsulans View in CoL Heijerman & Magnano, 2000)

- Rostrum with 1 or more pairs of rs1(3). Vs thorn-like, distinctly shorter than other setae on head and rostrum. Pronotal setae only thorn-like, almost as long as their protuberances. Dorsal abdominal setae of the same segment almost equal in shape and length, well visible, thorn-like............................................................................2

2. Rostrum with 3 pairs of rs1 ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 46 – 48 )...................................... P. (Phyllobius) pyri (Linnaeus, 1758) View in CoL s. str.

- Rostrum with a pair of very short rs only...................................................................3

3. Sls absent...................................................... .. P. (Metaphyllobius) pomaceus Gyllenhal, 1834 View in CoL

- Sls1-2 present, based on joint protuberances.................................. P. (Nemoicus) oblongus (Linnaeus, 1758) View in CoL
