Type material. Holotype male (BDN no. 1286), China: Shandong Province: Yantai City, Muping Town, Nanzhuang, 28.viii.1988, light trap, H. Li. Paratype: 1 male, data as for holotype.
Diagnostic characters. The new species is easily distinguished by having dark brown markings on abdomen, massive frontal tubercles, no setae on R1 and pediform superior volsella, composed of dorsal membranous bare lobe and setigerous ventral lobe with 1 apical seta.
Etymology. From Latin glabra , bare, referring to the bare dorsal lobe of the superior volsella.
Description. Male (n = 2).
Total length 2.23–2.46 mm. Wing length 1.20–1.23 mm.
Total length / wing length 86–2.00. Wing length / length of profemur 2.22–2.27.
Coloration. Thorax yellowish brown with posterior 1/5 of postnotum dark brown; femur of front leg yellowish green except distal 1/10 dark brown, tibia yellowish green, tarsus dark brown; femur and tibia of mid and hind leg yellowish green, tarsomeres 1–4 yellowish brown, tarsomere 5 dark brown. Abdomen with tergite I yellowish green, tergites II–V yellowish brown with dark brown bands distally, tergite VI dark brown except for basal 1/5 yellowish brown, tergites VII–VIII and hypopygium dark brown ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 4 – 8 ).
Head. AR 1.75, ultimate flagellomere 470–510 Μm long. Frontal tubercles swollen distally, 8–10 Μm long, 6–8 Μm wide. Temporal setae 10–16, including 4 inner verticals, 3–5 outer verticals, and 3–7 postorbitals. Clypeus with 9–11 setae. Tentorium 78–95 Μm long, 20–25 Μm wide. Palpomere lengths (in Μm): 27–28; 30; 80–95; 88–120; 145–155. Palpomere 5/3 ratio 1.53–1.54.
Thorax. Antepronotals 2–5, acrostichals 5–8 dorsocentrals 8, prealars 3. Scutellum with 4–7 setae.
Wing ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 4 – 8 ). VR 1.20. R with 2–4, R1 bare, R4+5 with 2 setae apically. Brachiolum with 1 seta. Squama with 3– 4 setae.
Legs. Fore tibia with 2 subapical setae, 76–80 Μm, another lost. Spurs of mid tibia 15 and 18 Μm long; comb with 22–30 teeth, 8–9 Μm long. Spurs of hind tibia 15–20 Μm and 23–25 Μm long; comb with 38–40 teeth, 8–10 Μm long. Tarsus 1 of mid leg with 1–5 sensilla chaetica, tarsus 1 of hind leg without sensilla chaetica. Phallapodeme 42–53 Μm long. Transverse sternapodeme 43–50 Μm long. Superior volsella composed of dorsal and ventral lobes, dorsal lobe bare, ventral lobe with 1 apical seta and covered with microtrichia. Inferior volsella small, apex rounded and covered with microtrichia ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 4 – 8 ). Gonocoxite 78–87 Μm long, with 3 strong setae along inner margin. Gonostylus 120–133 Μm long, slender medially, swollen distally and with digitiform apex. HR 0.59–0.73, HV 1.68–2.05.
