Cited from Cuba to Paraguay ( Govaerts et al. 2010) and widely distributed in Brazil. ( Sobral et al. 2010).

Shrubs 1–3 m tall, leaves 3.0–5.5 × 1.0– 2.5 cm, midvein sulcate on adaxial lamina surface, raceme with the main axis reduced with only two secondary axes and two bracts, bracts lanceolate, bracteoles rotund, hypanthium pilose, style glabrous, fruit subglobose.
