Definition. A genus of Synaphobranchidae View in CoL with a row of large compound teeth on the vomer and the following combination of characters: body moderately elongate, slightly compressed in head and trunk; scales absent; pectoral fin present; dorsal-fin origin over or slightly behind tip of pectoral fin; pores in lateral line absent; intermaxillary teeth absent; snout projects slightly beyond lower jaw; anus more than 1 head length behind pectoral-fin tip; multiple serial teeth on lower jaw; and gill openings well-separated.
