Peromyia emarginata Berest, 1988 View in CoL —new junior synonym of Peromyia fungicola (Kieffer, 1901)
Material studied: holotype male and paratype female, with the data specified in the original description ( Berest 1988a).
The genitalia of the holotype male of P. emarginata are distorted ( Berest 1988a: fig. 4–5), but still well enough preserved to show the structures characteristic of P. f u ng i co l a: the thick gonostylus with a tooth-like apical spine and a deep subapical concavity, and the elongate tegmen with a pair of U-shaped subapical cavities ( Edwards 1938c: fig. 28b, Jaschhof 1998: fig. 218, Jaschhof 2001: fig. 47). Berest’s (1988a) differential diagnosis of P. emarginata makes reference to P. brevispina Yukawa, 1967 rather than to P. fungicola , although Yukawa (1971) had synonymized P. brevispina with P. fungicola .
