Genus Pseudokuzicus Gorochov, 1993 View in CoL
Pseudokuzicus Gorochov, 1993 View in CoL . Zoosyst. Rossica, 2(1): 72; Otte, 1997. Orthoptera Species File 7: 89; Gorochov, 1998. Zoosyst. Rossica, 7(1): 108; Shi, Mao & Chang, 2007. Zootaxa, 1546: 23.
Type species: Xiphidiopsis pieli Tinkham, 1943 View in CoL
Body small, comparatively short and stout. Fastigium of vertex conical, dorsally furrowed, apex obtuse. Apical segment of maxillary palpi almost as long as subapical one. Pronotum short, with inconspicuous humeral sinus. Thoracic auditory spiracle large, kidney-shaped. Tibial tympana open on both sides. Tegmina abbreviated, not reaching apices of postfemora or slightly surpassing the base of posttibiae, longer or slightly shorter than hind wings. Most part of stridulatory area of male tegmina covered by pronotum. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with 1 pair of symmetrical processes or small colliculose processes. Male cerci bifurcate, moderately curved inwards; subgenital plate large, styli present or absent. Male genitalia with 1 pair of prominent titillators. Female cerci conical, ovipositor stout at base, apical half moderately curved upwards, apex acute, ventral valvulae with apical hooks. Body multicolored.
