Specimens examined. BOQUEIRÃO DO LEÃO: Cabernet Sauvignon, G. parviflora View in CoL : IV/2006 (1). DOIS LAJEADOS: Bordo (Ives), V. labrusca, Leaf, I\2006 (19); XI\2006 (1), XII\2006 (2), Coccocypselum View in CoL sp.: II/2007 (1).
Two females were measured: dorsal shield 313 (300–325) long and 169 (168–170) wide, j1 19 (18–20), j319 (18–20), j4 12 (10–13), j5 13, j6 13, J2 19 (18–20), J5 10, z2 17 (15–18), z3 18, z4 18, z5 13, Z4 32 (30–33), Z5 48, s4 20, s6 23 (20–25), S4 30, S5 18 (15–20), r3 18, R1 20, StIV 21, st1-st3 59 (57–60), st2-st2 55, G-G 57 (55–58), ventrianal shield 73 anterior wide, 68 (66–70) posterior wide and 108 (105–110) long, spermatheca cervix 19 (17– 20), fixed digit 27 (26–28), movable digit 25 (24–26).
Previous records in Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul ( Lorenzato et al., 1986; Ferla & Moraes, 1998; 2002; Lorenzato, 1998); São Paulo ( Feres & Moraes, 1998; Gondim & Moraes, 2001; Zacarias & Moraes, 2001). All measurements agree with the original description. It is a common phytoseiid mite in natural environments ( Ferla & Moraes, 2002) and in apple orchards without pesticide ( Ferla & Moraes, 1998) in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
