Climate types. Arid to semi-arid, with cool to mild winters and very warm summers.
Distribution in Palaearctic Region. Europe: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Russia (European Territory), Ukraine; North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco; Asia: Afghanistan, China, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Yemen ( Cate 2007; Platia 2007; 2011; 2018). Also recorded from Tchad and Sudan in Afrotropical Region (6 exs. (CPG): Tchad: Bol, Lago Tchad, IX.–X.1986, II.1987, X.1987, Melandri; Sudan: North Karthoum, 6.XII.1980, G. P. Rallo. New for the subsaharian fauna. Not recorded in Girard (2017).
