Diagnosis. O. insignis is the only species in China belonging to the insignis -group. O. insignis shares a brown postmedial line from the forewing apex to hind margin with O. andrema , O. pavaca , O. trispinuligera , O. paki , O. hoenei and O. bilineata . O. bilineata has a distinct antemedial line on the forewing, which is indistinct in O. insignis . The forewing outer margin is less protruding than in O. hoenei , O. paki or O. trispinuligera . The white decorations near the discal cell are present in O. andrema but lacking in O. insignis and O. pavaca . The areas on either side of the postmedial line are unicolorous in O. insignis but much deeper inside the postmedial line in O. pavaca . The male genitalia differ from other Chinese species in the long saw-like valva and the large triangular basal process. The female genitalia have a signum in the corpus bursae.
Distribution. China (Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet), Japan.
