Material. Holotype [[male]] ( NUAM), TURKEY: Nigde Province , Maden Village , (2500 m.) (37°26'N, 34°37'E) 10.VI.2001, leg. Tuncay Tuerkes . GoogleMaps Paratypes 2 [[males]], 1 [[female]] ( NUAM), together with holotype, leg. Tuncay Tuerkes .

Etymology. The new species is named in honour of famous Turkish zoologist Prof. Dr. Ali Demirsoy.

Diagnosis. Based on the arrangement of the two tibial apophyses of the male palp, and the flat tegulum without apophyses, this new species included in the sabulosus-group of Xysticus (Simon 1932). The males of X. demirsoyi sp. n. are similar to X. sabulosus (Hahn, 1832) (cf. Thaler 1981: figs 52, 57; Jantscher 2002: figs 5, 6) and X. secedens L. Koch , 1876 (cf. Thaler 1981: figs 53, 58), but can be separated from them by the fish scale-like surface of the basal embolus, the position of the tegular ridge, and the shape of the tibial apophyses. The female resembles X. xerodermus Strand , 1913 (cf. Logunov & Demir 2006: figs 8-10), but can be separated from this and all other species by the shape of its spermathecae.

Description. Measurements (holotype %/ paratype &). Carapace: 3.5 long, 3/3.2 wide. Abdomen: 3.3/4 long, 2.6/3.6 wide. Clypeus 0.25/0.35 long, chelicera 1.15 long. Female. Coloration generally lighter than in male. Carapace light brown with wide yellow median band. Clypeus, chelicerae, maxillae and labium yellow. Sternum yellow with light brown spots. Dorsum of abdomen creamy with white and light brown spots. Spinnerets yellow. All legs yellow with dark brown spots, with dorsal and ventral longitudinal brown stripes on femora, patellae and tibia.
