Holotype (male): East Malaysia: Sarawak, Baram Dist., Gunong Mulu NP [3°57'N, 114°47'E], Long Pala (Base), 70 m, 16.iii.1978, leg. J.D. Holloway et al. (Site 16. | 324450), depository: The Natural History Museum London ( BMNH).

Paratypes: East Malaysia: 1 female, Sarawak, Foot of Mt. Dulit [3°20'N, 114°9'E], Junction of rivers Tinjar & Lejok, 31.viii.1932, leg. Oxford Univ. Exp., B.M. Hobby & A.W. Moore ( BMNH); 1 female, same data, 4.ix.1932 ( BMNH).

Diagnosis. The new species comes close to Deflorita integra Ingrisch, 1998 , with which it shares similar habitus and coloration and similar abdominal terminalia of male. It differs by the tegmen with narrowly rounded, not widened apex, the cerci being less curved and with bidentate apex instead of with a single flattened tooth, and by the subgenital plate with entire apical margin instead of excised apex. The peculiar coloration of the tegmen also differs between both species.

Description. Fastigium verticis rather narrow, furrowed, moderately declining anteriorly with tip little projecting (Figs. 1C–D). Disc of pronotum with anterior margin truncate, little concave in middle; posterior margin truncate; humeral sinus weak. Tegmen with anterior margin curved; rather narrow; apex nearly angular, rounded (Fig. 2C).

Male. Stridulatory area of tegmen oval, on right tegmen with a small tubercle at posterior-internal angle; with a narrow gap in dorsal area between both tegmina behind stridulatory area (Fig. 3C). Stridulatory file on underside of left tegmen 1.15 mm long; teeth extremely dense; with about 215 teeth, equating 187 teeth per mm; in central to apical area with 22.0 teeth per 0.1 mm (Fig. 4B). Mirror on right tegmen roughly oval with anterior margin little concave; with a nearly entire cross-vein followed by a deep furrow in about basal quarter to third; 1.28 mm long, 1.17 mm wide; index length: width 1.09 (Fig. 3D). Second abdominal tergite saddle-shaped with a huge dorsal bump covering third tergite dorsally; anterior margin concave, dorso-basal area flattened, prolonged area convex (Figs. 8A–B). Tenth abdominal tergite short; apex truncate. Epiproct rounded. Cerci moderately curved; at apex with large compressed external tooth and small conical internal tooth; both subacute (Fig. 5F). Subgenital plate with central area prolonged behind with slightly diverging margins; apex rounded (Fig. 5G). Phallus membranous.

Female. Ninth abdominal tergite with dorsal area very short, lateral areas normal. Tenth abdominal tergite very short, apex truncate. Epiproct triangular, hardly furrowed. Cerci narrow with approaching margins, little curved; apex obtuse. Subgenital plate transverse with rounded lateral margins; apex little concave in middle (Fig. 10I). Ovipositor sickle-shaped, strongly upcurved; dorsal margin smooth; ventral margin in apical half very finely crenulated (Fig. 10J).

Coloration. Male probably green when alive. Antennae with spaced annulation. Dorsal area of head including fastigium verticis and fastigium frontis ivory white, with black bands behind compound eyes and a triangular brown spot in middle of occiput. Disc of pronotum with a short black stroke at each side of anterior margin and with hind angles of posterior margin black. Stridulatory area of tegmen with brown hind margin and separated from rest of tegmen by a short black band; dorsal field of tegmen and anterior margin in apical third with a dashed black band; in apical area with small round and elongate black spots, the round spot encircled with red; apical margin of tegmen and projecting part of hind wings dark brown. Lateral areas of second, third and seventh abdominal tergites with large, of fourth to sixth tergites with small ivory white spots and with brown or red margin. Hind femur with a row of three black dots on top of anterior-central area and smaller dots on external side behind; internal surface and genicular area with additional black markings. Hind tibia on ventral surface in middle and at apex with black strokes. Hind tarsus ventrally black.

Female yellowish brown; probably green when alive. Head with fastigii, vertex and genae white with brown flecks from hind margin, a black post-ocular band at both sides. Pronotum with a pair of black angular strokes at fore margin and black hind margin, interrupted in middle. Tegmen with hind margin, apex and posterior area of fore margin with interrupted black ornation; elongate dorso-basal field with white veinlets and transparent cells. Abdominal tergites in lateral areas with large white spots ornated by brown margin. Hind femur in dorsal and internal areas with rows of black dots especially in basal half; genicular area infumated. Fore- and mid femur with black apical mark. Anterior tibia with dark marks in tympanal area and a preapical mark. Mid tibia with black spot at very base and before apex. Hind tibia with black spot at very base and black marks in middle and at apex. Fore and mid tarsus with third segment blackish brown. Hind tarsus with first to third segments dark brown.

Etymology. The name of the new species refers to the black margin of the white stridulatory area.

Measurements (1 male, 2 females). Body w/wings: male 25, female 28.5–29; body w/o wings: male 14.5, female 12–13; pronotum: male 3.2, female 2.8–3.0; tegmen: male 12, female 19.5; hind femur: male 21.5, female 12.5; hind wing: male 16.5, female 25.0–25.5; ovipositor: female 5 mm.
