Pimelodus melanogaster Bleeker, 1854: 89 (type locality: eastern Sumatra, Palembang province, at the conūence of the Lamatang and Enim rivers).
Material examined. WEST SUMATRA DRAINAGES: ZMA 101.956 (2), 74.6, 81.8 mm SL.
Remarks. The taxonomy of Acrochordonichthys species is confused at the moment ( Roberts, 1989) and pending a more detailed study, the identity of these specimens is tentative.
