Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and urease and β -galactosidase activities. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase activities. D- Glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetylglucosamine, D- maltose, and malic acid are utilized.
