This species was only recently separated from Campylomyza serrata Jaschhof, 1998 ( Jaschhof 2015b) . Previous distribution. Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Japan ( Jaschhof 2015b). Occurrence in Sweden: Öland.

Specimens studied. SWEDEN: male (CEC226), Öland , Borgholm, Horns kungsgård NR, mixed forest of birch, alder and willow at lakeside, 12 June–20 July 2015, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof; male (CEC227), Öland, Mörbylånga, Färjestaden, backyard with young birches and shrubs , 11 July–18 Aug. 2015, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof.
