Aeolothrips deserticola Priesner, 1929: 61 View in CoL
This Saharo-Arabian species was described from Egypt and is widespread from Canary Islands to middle east. It not only shares most structural details with A. tenuicornis View in CoL but is also similar in habitat and host plants. The species can be distinguished by antennal segment V shorter than VI–IX together (V 57–63µm, VI–IX 80–85µm), whereas in A. tenuicornis View in CoL segment V is longer than or as long as VI–IX together (V 73–75µm, VI–IX 75–78µm).
Material studied. All specimens were collected by Aldryhim, Y. N. and Rasool, I. except where otherwise indicated. Riyadh. Al Oyayna, Salih farm, 39 females, 15 males from Zilla spinosa , 23.i.2019, ( BT) ; Rumah, Rawdat Khuraim, 21 females, two males from Zilla spinosa , 20 females, 12 males from leaves of Eruca vesicaria , eight females, one male from Anthemis deserti , one female, eight males from Peganum harmala , 30.i.2019, ( BT) ; Al-Deri’yya, Sudus, 13 females from Zilla spinosa , 19. ii. 2019, ( BT) ; Al Oyayna, Salih farm, 11 females from Sisymbrium irio , 14.iii.2019, ( BT) ; Zulfi, Rawdat Sabalah, 10 females from Erucaria hispanica , 20 females, siex males from Zilla spinosa ., 26.iii.2019, ( BT) ; Zulfi, Rashid farm two females from Raphanus caudatus , 27.iii.2019, ( BT) .
