Natural history.
Specimens of this adventive species in NB were captured in Lindgren funnel traps in hardwood forests, a mixed forest, and an old white pine ( Pinus strobus L.) stand. In southern ON, specimens were captured in pitfall traps in and near agricultural fields ( Brunke et al. 2012). In the western Palaearctic, most specimens were collected in passive traps in unforested habitats, but the true habitat remains unknown ( Assing and Wunderle 2008).
Distribution in Canada and Alaska.
ON, NB ( Brunke et al. 2012; Bousquet et al. 2013).
Comments.
Alevonota gracilenta was first reported from North America by Brunke et al. (2012) based on specimens collected in southern ON. They suggested that the introduction may have been recent.
