Pachyprotasis cinctulata Zhong & Wei, 2002: 228 –229, fig. 225. ♀, type locality: Mt. Baiyun, Songxian (34°15′N, 112°06′E, alt. 1500 m), Henan, China.
Pachyprotasis cinctulata: Wei et al. 2006: 534 ; Taeger et al. 2010: 568.
Distribution. China (Henan, Hunan and Shandong) ( Fig. 125 View FIGURE 125 ).
Material examined. Holotype, Henan: ♀, Mt. Baiyun, Songxian (34°15′N, 112°06′E, alt. 1500 m), 31.05.2001, Yihai Zhong leg.; non-type material: Hunan: 2 ♀, Tianmensi, Mt. Mufu, Pingjiang (29°71′N, 113°56′E, alt. 1350 m), 25.04.2008, Zejian Li, Yuan Zhang leg.; Shandong: 1 ♀, Mt. Laoshan, Qingdao, (364°11′N, 120°37′E, alt. 500–1000 m), 23.05.2004, Weixing Liu leg.
Discussion. This species is similar to P. melanosoma , and may be distinguished as follows ( P. melanosoma in parentheses): basal 1/3 of hind femur white (hind femur completely black); hind part of metepimeron white (metepimeron completely black); base of each serrula distinctly elevated (base of each serrula slightly elevated). It is also similar to P. coxipunctata and may be distinguished as follows ( P. coxipunctata in parentheses): hind trochanter completely black (hind trochanter completely white); mesoscutellum, mesoscutellar appendage and metascutellum completely black (middle of mesoscutellum, middle of mesoscutellar appendage and metascutellum white); terga completely black (posterior margin of tergum 3 and 4 each with a medial white stripe). Except for the serrulae, reliable morphological differences between these three species were not found.
