Range: —Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, PA, SC) and Brazil.

Ecology: —Very common; terrestrial, often on stream banks, rarely in rock crevices or epiphytic, in humid forests; to 1100 m.

Notes: —Although the species is treated as having monomorphic leaves, the fertile ones are often somewhat larger and with longer petioles than the sterile ones. Blades have a flagelliform rachis with a proliferous tip and abundant false cross-veins between the true veins.
