Genus Songthela Ono, 2000
Songthela Ono, 2000: 150 . Type species: Heptathela hangzhouensis Chen, Zhang & Zhu, 1981 .
Diagnosis. Songthela males can be distinguished from those of all other heptatheline genera by a smooth conductor with the proximal portion relatively narrow, the distal portion with at least one apical spine ( Figs 5B, 5E View FIGURE 5 , 6B, 6E View FIGURE 6 ), by the distal of embolus slightly sclerotized, with a wide and flat opening ( Figs 5A, 5D View FIGURE 5 , 6A, 6D View FIGURE 6 ), and by the contrategulum with dense serrations ( Figs 5A, 5D, 5G View FIGURE 5 , 6A, 6D, 6G View FIGURE 6 ). Songthela females differ from those of all other heptatheline genera by four receptacular clusters, median pair along the anterior margin of the bursa copulatrix with obvious genital stalks, lateral ones more dorsally ( Figs 5 View FIGURE 5 H–M, 6H–O).
