Australokaskia constricta Engel & Morris 1995
1995 Australokaskia (Planilobus) constricta Engel & Morris , p. 201–202, pl. 2, figs. 9–17.
Holotype. AMF90490 (external mould of dorsal shield lacking anterior cephalon and part external mould of thorax).
Paratype material. From NU L620: AMF90480a/b (external/internal pygidium and thorax), AMF90481 (external cranidium), AMF90482 (external hypostome), AMF90483 (external pygidium), AMF90484 (external pygidium), AMF90485 (external pygidium), AMF90486 (external pygidium), AMF90487 (external pygidium), AMF90488 (external pygidium and internal hypostome). From NU L652: AMF90489 (external librigena), AMF90491 (external pygidium), AMF90492 (external pygidium). From NU L871: AMF90493 (external pygidium and thorax).
Locality. Type—NU L652. Others—NU L620, NU L871.
Diagnosis. See Engel & Morris (1995: 201).
Remarks. Australokaskia (Planilobus) constricta is easily distinguished from other Australokaskia species due to a distinct constriction on the sides of the pygidial axial rings. A single pygidium designated as Australokaskia sp. also has this distinct constriction, but its posterior pleural furrows are faint, the border is narrow, and there are rows of nodes on the axial rings. However, A. (Planilobus) constricta has a wide pygidial border, all of its pleural furrows are distinct, and there is only one row of nodes on the axial rings (Engel & Morris 1995).
