Bathymunida brevirostris ( Yokoya, 1933) View in CoL
( Figs. 1–3 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 )
Material examined. East China Sea. 1 female, Cl 5.12 mm, 1 male, Cl 5.59 mm, MBM150089, CN V562B- 34, 472 m, fine sand, St. 0 5, precise locality unknown, AT, 30 May 1978.
Distribution. East China Sea; Goto Island; Tsushima Island.
Remarks. The two specimens agree quite well with the descriptions and illustrations of Baba (1970) and Baba & de Saint Laurent (1996): the rostrum is anteriorly narrowed, with small rostral and well-developed supraocular spines, without distinct ridge in midline; the supraocular spines extend far beyond rostral spine which is small but distinct; the merus of third maxilliped is rather truncate; the dactylus of second pereopod has two spine-like setae on the flexor margin, the dactylus of third and fourth pereopods has one on seta on the flexor margin; the eyestalk lacks tubercles.
