Generitype of Carpesium Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 181. 1929).
Current name: Carpesium cernuum L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).
Note: Jarvis & al. ( Regnum Veg. 127: 30. 1993) wrongly listed C. abrotanoides L. as the generitype. Carpesium cernuum is the generitype.
Grierson’s typification was published in February 1980, predating the same choice made by Rechinger ( Fl. Iranica 145: 127) in April 1980.
