Type material Holotype. [ PAKISTAN] ♂, Prov. Sindh, Mirpurkhas, 11 March 2010, slide Prozorov 2022/0424 ( GMF) . Paratype. [ PAKISTAN] 1♂, Prov. Sindh, Thar Distr., desert of Thar, 17 March 2010, slide Prozorov 2022/0423 ( GMF) .
Description. Forewing length 11−12 mm (Holotype — 12 mm). Antennae unipectinate, setae length about 0.7 of antenna stem diameter. Thorax and abdomen grey, covered with dense scales. Forewing light-grey with slight uniform sputtering of darker scales over the entire wing, poorly developed pattern of strokes and two thin, grey submarginal transverse bands. Hindwing uniformly grey without pattern.
Male genitalia. Uncus relatively short, trapezoidal, with a wide obtuse apex; gnathos arms thick, medium-sized, gnathos large, densely covered with fine spikes; valva concave, cup-like, with a relatively long lanceolate membranous apex (longer than in the previous species), distal portion of mid costal process is apically rounded, weakly sclerotized (not forming a spine like structure as in previous species) and proximal branch of mid costal process is trapezoidal; transtilla process hooked, robust, broader at base and narrowing to an acute apex; juxta larger, well sclerotized, of complicated configuration, with two pairs of lateral processes—the long stick-like ones directed dorsally, the small lobe-like ones directed abdominally; saccus robust, semicircular; phallus equal to valva in length, almost straight, slightly narrowing to apex, vesica aperture in dorso-apical position, half of phallus in length, vesica without cornuti.
Female unknown.
Diagnosis. From A. gobardhani sp. nov., it clearly differs in the less modified forewing pattern, the smaller size, the shape of the costal process and the curved transtilla process.
Distribution. Pakistan (Sindh Province).
Etymology. Dedicated to Mr. Grimaldi, osteopath, a founder of ONE OSTEO, originally from France, and now residing in Malaysia. As an enthusiastic lepidopterist, he is well known for organizing expeditions to remote and extreme areas. His material is the basis for numerous new zoogeographical records and new species for science.
