Map 11. Figure 19 View FIGURE 19 .

Type locality. Peru, Madre de Dios, Avispas , 400m, 12°53'S 71°8'W. Holotype female CNC.

Male. Head: Dark brown. Face pale on lateral ¼; gena slightly lightened anteriorly. Lunule usually distinctly pale above antennal insertion, central macula broadly fused to frontal triangle color. Frontal triangle pale laterally except around eye contiguity, with silvery-white pollen restricted laterally. Vertical triangle with 1 row of pile; ocellar triangle separated by its length from posterior eye margin. Eye contiguity as long as vertical triangle length. Eye with sub-triangular indentation on posterior margin positioned at level of antenna insertion. Antennal insertions confluent, ventral sclerotized margin extended dorsally. Antenna brown. Dorsal ¼ of occiput with 2 rows of simple black pile, anterior row with very short pile, middle 2⁄4 with 2–3 rows of white, scale-like pile, anterior row slightly shorter; ventral ¼ with 2 regular rows of scale-like white pile.

Thorax: Scutum dark brown, dull pollinose, with inconspicuous vittae of pale pollen sub-medially; scutum mostly white pilose, notopleuron with longer pile anterior to transverse suture; scutum anterior row of shining white pile interrupted in the middle. Scutellum white pilose, subscutellar fringe pile long and white. Pleuron white pilose and mostly dark brown, except pale on posterior ½ of posterior anepisternum and dorso-posteriorly on katepisternum. Plumula short and white. Calypter white. Halter light yellow.

Wing: Entirely light gray, stigma slightly dark, entirely microtrichose; alula basally as broad as and apically 2 times as broad as c cell, hyaline, entirely microtrichose.

Legs: Proleg dark brown, pale on apex of procoxa, base and apex of profemur and basal ½ of protibia. Mesoleg dark brown, pale on base and apex of mesofemur and basal ⅔ of mesotibia. Metaleg dark brown, pale on base and apex of metafemur, basal ¼ to ⅓ of metatibia and apex of metabasitarsomere to 4th metatarsomere.

Abdomen: Dark brown; 3.6 times as long as thorax. First tergite black, white pilose. Second tergite long, length 4.8 times minimum width, with pair of median fasciate pale maculae; 2nd tergite with subapical central triangular region dull black-pollinose, and mainly black, long and erect pile, except short and appressed dorsally, and white pilose on latero-basal ½. Third tergite trapezoidal and long, length 2.7 times minimum width, with subbasal lateral corners with triangular pale maculae and central pair of short pale vittae; 3rd tergite with large central triangular region of dull black pollen, and short, appressed and black pile. Fourth tergite sub-quadrate, slightly longer than wide; remaining characteristics as on 3rd. Fifth tergite rectangular and wide, without baso-lateral pale maculae; remaining characteristics as on 3rd. Genitalia: Cercus with 1 regular row of pile on medial margin and 2 regular rows on lateral margin. Surstylus directed anteriorly, expanded ventrally on apical ⅔, rounded apically, and with small dorso-medial apex constituted of a thin sclerotized layer; surstylus pilose on basal ½ of the dorsal surface and with strong setulae (around 12) on apicoventral margin. Subepandrial sclerite divided into a pair of small triangular sclerites. Hypandrium with ventral notch extending to anterior ⅔. Distiphallus smooth and anterior surface slightly concave. Phallapodeme short and tapering on basal ⅓. Postgonite narrow, with pile mainly on ventral surface, ventral surface slightly expanded, straight, dorsal surface slightly concave; postgonite apex convex anteriorly, with acute dorsal extremity.

Female: Similar to male except: Face more extensively pale laterally (almost lateral ⅓). Frons pale on lateroventral ½ only. Ocellar triangle ~1.5 times its length from posterior eye margin and ~1 ocellus-width from lateral eye margin. Ventral ¾ of occiput with 2–3 rows of white, scale-like pile, anterior rows slightly shorter. Scutum with pair of pale pollinose vittae sub-medially. Most of protibia and mesotibia pale. Metatibia with basal ⅓ pale, metabasitarsomere with apical 1/5 to ¼ pale. Wing hyaline, but very light brown on baso-anterior ½ (slightly brown on cells bc, c, r, basal ½ of r1; basal 1/5 of r2+3 and bm). Second abdominal tergite shorter than on male, length 2.3 times minimum width; dull pollinose region smaller; lateral pile much shorter than on male. Third tergite shorter than on male. Fourth tergite sub-quadrate, slightly wider than long. Fifth tergite rectangular and wide, with pair of baso-lateral pale triangular maculae. Sixth segment conical, as long as its smallest width and slightly longer than 5th. Genitalia: 7th tergite short, basal extensions as long as the 6th segment, 7th segment lateral sclerite narrow apically but extended baso-ventrally into 6th segment. Eighth tergite medial area lightly sclerotized, basal crest straight, apex acute. Cercus with 1 row of pile on apical margin.

Length. 7.5–8.5mm; wing 6.5mm.

Distribution. Bolivia (La Paz), Brazil (Acre), Ecuador (Napo), Peru (Cuzco, Madre de Dios).

Primary type. Holotype: Female in good condition with genitalia dissected and placed in a plastic tube pinned with the specimen.
