Diagnosis: This species is similar to A. saharae in general appearance but can be separated by its pronotum with medain carina concave, sharply crossed by posterior sulcus at posterior fifth ( Chopard, 1943: Fig. 572); prosternal process with anterior margin rounded ( Chopard, 1943: Fig. 577).

Habitats: Only collected at two localities on the grass and vegetable; widely distributed but very local, throughout the grass region.

Material examined: Ghat Region: Al Barkat 2♂, 2♀, on grass-vegetable; 13.vi.1993 ; Ghat, 1♂, on grass, 21.i.1994 .

Localities: Fezzan: Al Barkat, Ghat.

Distribution: Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, S.W. Europe.

Remarks: This species is recorded for the first time from Libya.
