Etymology. Named after the Ranomafana National Park where the type specimen was collected.
Remarks. Differs from all other Dacrysoma by the dark colour, number and density of punctures on the pronotum, and by the form of the genitalia.
Type data. Holotype: ♂, Ranomafana N.P., RNF/13/2011, litter, sifting, Winkler app. extr. S.21˚15’13.5’’ E.47˚24’09.8’’, 16.iv.2011, L.S.Rahanitriniaina & R.Raveloson (BMNH). Paratypes: 9exs, same data as holotype (BMNH); 1 ex Ranomafana N.P., RNF/15/2011, litter, sifting, Winkler app. extr., S.21˚ 15’06.0’’ E.47˚24’31.0’’, 1197 m, 16.iv.2011, L.S.Rahanitriniaina & R.Raveloson (BMNH).
