Diagnosis. SIF = 7BS-N-3-2111.1000; fPp = B/B/NBB; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fSc: PL> AL> AM; Ip = 950–1127; fD = (2-4)H-[(7–12)-(7–11)]-[(8–13)-(4–10)]-(9–15)-(8–13)-...; DS = 63–78; VS = 40–63; NDV = 108–133. Standard measurements of 18 specimens from Turkey are given in Table 10.

Type material (not examined). Holotype of N. crinita was not designated. Type material of this species, which was collected in Zelene (46° 07' 58" N, 30° 03' 08" E) ( Ukraine, Odessa Prov., Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Distr. ) is lost. GoogleMaps

Two larvae (ZMMU) ex Microtus socialis , UKRAINE: Crimea, Kirovskyi District, Sofiyivka village (45° 16' 24" N, 35° 07' 43" E), 22 and 23 October 1957; 1 larva (ZMMU) ex M. arvalis , UKRAINE: Crimea, Simferopol District, “Polyarnoe” (other names Terskunda and Oktyabr’skoye, abandoned village, now agrobiological station of the Taurida National University), 44° 49' 44" N, 34° 13' 13" E, 31 October 1957, coll. F.N. Vshivkov, det. E.G. Schluger; 3 larvae (ZMMU) ex Myodes glareolus , MOLDOVA: StrăŞeni District, Lozova village (47° 07' 58" N, 28° 23' 09" E), 26 September 1962, coll., det. N.I. Kudryashova.

Hosts. According to Kudryashova (1998), 18 mammal species (rodents and soricomorphs) and one bird [ Garrulus glandarius (L.)].
