? Ericotrombidium hasei ( Feider, 1958)
Trombicula hasei Feider, 1958: 441 .
Leptotrombidium (Cotrombidium) hasei, Kepka 1962: 278 , fig. 3.
Leptotrombidium (Ericotrombidium) hasei, Vercammen-Grandjean & Langston 1976: 756 , pl. 227; Kudryashova 1979: 28. Ericotrombidium hasei, Kudryashova 1998: 127 .
Diagnosis. SIF = 7BS-B-3-2111.0000; fPp = B/B/NNB; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fSc: PL ≥ AL> AM; Ip = 772; fD = 2H-[8-4]-6-6-4-2; DS = 32; VS = 24; NDV = 56. Measurements of paratype ( Vercammen-Grandjean & Langston, 1976): AW 59, PW 76, SB 20, ASB 23, PSB 13, SD 36, AP 24, AM 26, AL 30, PL 37, S 56, H 31, D min 27, D max 33, V min 28, V max 32, pa 279, pm 221, pp 272.
Type material (not examined). The species was described from Topolog (44° 53' N, 28° 22' E) ( Romania: Tulcea County). Holotype and paratypes were preserved in the private collection of Z. Feider; their present depository is unknown GoogleMaps .
Hosts. Lacerta viridis (Laurenti) , L. trilineata Bedriaga , Podarcis tauricus (Pallas) ( Feider, 1958) , Dolichophis caspius (Gmelin) , Apodemus flavicollis (Melchior) , A. mystacinus (Danford and Alston) , Crocidura russula (Hermann) .
Distribution. France, Italy, Romania, Macedonia,? Turkey. Material from Spain was later described as a separate species ( Vercammen-Grandjean & Langston 1976). Materials from Ukraine (Crimea and Odessa Prov.) and Russia (Stavropolskiy Krai) were also later described as several new species ( Kudryashova 1998). Moreover, all other findings outside Romania and from other hosts than reptiles should be verified as well. Record in Turkey: Bergama ( Kepka 1962).
Remarks. Material collected by Kepka (1962) from Crocidura russula somewhat differs from E. hasei , as it is evident from the comparison of his data with the complete description of one E. hasei paratype given by Vercammen-Grandjean and Langston (1976). Thus, in Kepka’s material SB = 26 vs. 20, AP = 27 vs. 24, and PL = 30 vs. 37. Morphological and morphometric data given in the original description ( Feider 1958) are very variable and undoubtedly represent more than one species (it is evident, for example, from the comparison of scuta on the figs. 10 and 11 in the cited paper). Therefore, occurrence of E. hasei in Turkey need in verification. Specimens from Bergama may represent some other species of Ericotrombidium .
