Material from Turkey examined. 3 larvae (ZISP, Nos. 5039, 5034 and 5030) ex Chionomys nivalis , Erzurum Prov., northern slope of Mescit Range, 1.5 km S from Ahlatli , 2030 m a.s.l., 20 June 1998, coll. AAS .
Remarks. See comments for the genus. Cheladonta sp. 2 differs from the material identified by Kepka (1966) as Ch. ikaoensis in larger NDV (90–95 vs. 66–70) and longer setae (AM 32–34 vs. 26, PL 47–52 vs. 38). Differs from Cheladonta sp. 1 in longer setae (AM 32–34 vs. 29, PL 47–52 vs. 40–41, H 47–50 vs. 41–42, D min 37–40 vs. 27–31, D max 48–52 vs. 43), slightly lesser NDV (90–95 vs. 102–107), and much longer legs (Ip 776–806 vs. 595–655). Differs from the material on Ch. flava from Turkey in longer setae (AL 41–43 vs. 22–25, PL 47–52 vs. 39–42, H 47–50 vs. 41–44, D min 37–40 vs. 29–30, D max 48–52 vs. 39–40), longer legs (Ip 776–806 vs. 680–736), and larger NDV (90–95 vs. 73–77).
