Type species: Parathyone surinamensis (Semper, 1868) View in CoL .

Diagnosis. Medium-sized body, 10–15 cm long, with tentacles of equal size or the ventral smaller and stout feet spreading out into the interambulacra. Calcareous ring simple. Body wall with baskets and regular, strongly knobbed buttons. Tube feet with endplate and large supporting rods ( Deichmann 1957, amended here).
