Lectotype (Turrill in Turrill & Milne-Redhead, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Caryophyllaceae : 24. 1956): Herb. Linn. No. 388.1 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Alsine Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 143. 1929).

Current name: Stellaria media (L.) Vill. View in CoL View at ENA ( Caryophyllaceae ).

Note: Although Fawcett & Rendle ( Fl. Jamaica 3: 178. 1914) indicated material in LINN as type, they did not distinguish between sheets 388.1 and 388.2 (which are evidently not part of a single gathering so Art. 9.15 does not apply).
