Labrichthys unilineatus (Guichenot 1847) View in CoL —Tubelip wrasse

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 4 m depth, by Dean Tully on 16 Sept. 2012; another photographed at St. KVGPMT39 (south of Lemus Island , Kavieng District ) by Serge Andréfouët on 21 Aug. 2014; a video of a specimen taken off southern New Hanover , at 4–51 m depth, St. KR 110, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: East Africa, Aldabra and western Mascarenes east to Society Islands, south to Western Australia, Lord Howe Island and Tonga. Found in lagoon and semi-protected seaward coral reefs with high coral cover, near branching corals, particularly staghorn Acropora ; feeds on coral polyps, 0–20 m depth. Marine.
