Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District , 4 m depth, by Dean Tully on 18 Sept. 2012.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Nicobar Islands, Papua New Guinea (New Britain) and Solomon Islands. Secretive in sheltered coastal reefs and estuaries, 1–20 m depth. Marine.
