Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11408 (1 specimen, 26.8 mm SL, St. KB 52, east Anelaua Island, Kavieng District , 02°35.156’S 150°30.498’E, 3–4 m depth, 19 June 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Line and Tuamotu islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found in coastal, lagoon and seaward reefs, 1–45 m depth. Marine.
