Osteomugil perusii (Valenciennes in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1836) — Longfinned mullet

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed by by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Mariana and Solomon islands, north to Taiwan. Found in shallow coastal waters, entering lagoons and estuaries, 0–3 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
