1. Impatiens chinensis Linnaeus (1753: 937) View in CoL .

Type (lectotype, designated here):— CHINA. Without locality, s.d., Anon. s.n. ( LINN-HL 1053-1 [digital image!]).

Notes:—The protologue of Impatiens chinensis consists of a short diagnosis, along with the provenance “Habitat in China ”, and a short description. Only one specimen relevant to the Linnaean name I. chinensis is kept at LINN ( LINN-HL 1053-1) which is annotated by Linnaeus as “1 chinensis ”. The number 1 corresponds to the Species Plantarum number of this species. Thus, it is designated here as the lectotype for the name I. chinensis as it agrees well with the protologue. Jarvis (2007) did not trace other original material for this name in any of the other Linnaean and Linnaean linked herbaria.
