Redescription. Male. Integument black. Pubescence predominantly grayish except for black maculae as follows: two lines on vertex; sometimes with elongated narrow patch on anterior margin of pronotum; on elytra, a transverse belt slightly projecting at suture and at margins. Apical third of femorae, base, and apex of tibiae and apical tarsomeres covered with black pubescence. Ventral face of body covered with grayish pubescence.

Antennae reaching apices of elytra at apex of antennomere V. Sides of prothorax with minute obtuse tubercle at beginning of posterior third; single line of minute punctures near posterior margin. Elytra with apices semicircularly emarginate, external angle projecting in acute tooth. Punctures widely scattered on basal half. Fifth urotergite truncate at apex; fifth urosternite semicircularly emarginate at distal extremity. Metatarsomere I as long as II + III.

Female. Antennae reaching apices of elytra at apex of antennomere VI. Fifth urotergite rounded at apex; fifth urosternite transversely truncate at distal extremity.

Measurements (mm), male/female. Total length, 6.2/6.6–6.8; prothorax length, 1.0/12–1.2; prothorax width, 1.5/1.7–1.7; elytral length, 4.5/4.8–4.9; humeral width, 2.0/2.3–2.3.

Distribution. French Guiana, Ecuador, Brazil (Amazonas, Pará), and Bolivia.

Specimens examined. ECUADOR, Napo: “Cuyarueno” (Cuyabeno? 0° 16' 0" S, 75° 53' 0" W not located), female, IV.1986, G. Onore col. (MNRJ, new country record). BRAZIL. Pará: Jacareacanga, female, V.1969, F. R. Barbosa col. (MNRJ) Santarém, female, VI.1919, S. M. Klages col. (MNRJ). BOLIVIA, Santa Cruz, 3.7 mi SSE Buena Vista (Hotel Flora & Fauna), male, 1–18.III.2005, B. K. Dozier col.
