Athyreacarus primitivus Khaustov and Frolov, 2017, p. 302 , Figs 1–6 .

Diagnosis. Setae chb present. Setae v 2 setiform, sc 1 presented as alveolar pits. Setae c 1 present. No spatulate setae on legs. Three pairs of aggenital setae. Apodemes 5 long. Prodorsal shield without lateral projections; cupules on tergites D and EF well developed.

Material examined. Six females, no locality data, on a beetle Bolbapium striatopunctatum (Laporte de Castelnau) (new host); 7 females, PARAGUAY, on a beetle Bolbapium sp. (first record for the country) ; 8 females, no locality data, on a beetle B. striatopunctatum ; 8 females, BRAZIL, on a beetle Bolbapium sp .; 3 females, BRAZIL [no exact locality], on a beetle Bolbapium sp .; 5 females, BRAZIL, São Paulo, Cerqueira César , XI.1996, J. Remarks. This species was described from Brazil ( Khaustov & Frolov 2017) from the beetle Bolbapium howdeni Martínez.
