Description of Bacillus idriensis View in CoL J27

Cells are Gram­staining­negative, non­flagellated, non­pigmented, and coccus shaped. Colonies are opaque, round, smooth, convex and cream colored after 3 days on MA at 25°C. Based on API 20NE, positive for glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and β ­galactosidase. Does not utilize D­glucose, L­arabinose, D­mannose, D­mannitol, N ­acetyl­glucosamine, D­maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Oxidase activity is positive. Strain J27 (= NIBRBA0000) was isolated from seawater, Gwangyang, Korea.
