Diagnosis.
Medium to large sized species (5.6-8.7 mm). Antenna stout, antennomeres VII-X shortest (1.5-2.2 × longer than wide), III-VI similar or slender. Body convex. Elytra relatively broad, 1.4-1.6 × longer than wide. Aedeagus apically tapering and symmetric (Figs 16C View Figure 16 , 20C View Figure 20 , 22C View Figure 22 ) except P. meihuai sp. nov. (Fig. 20C View Figure 20 ), ostium obliquely longitudinal and lacking cover; endophallic sclerites composed of primary sclerite with several teeth at apex in P. igai (Fig. 19C View Figure 19 ) and P. meifena (Fig. 20C View Figure 20 ), with one secondary sclerite in P. meihuai sp. nov. (Fig. 22C, D View Figure 22 ) or two secondary sclerites in P. alishanensis sp. nov. (Fig. 16C, D View Figure 16 ) Ventrite VIII in females apically sclerotized, apical margin widely rounded and with dense short setae; spiculum long (Figs 16E View Figure 16 , 19E View Figure 19 , 20E View Figure 20 , 22E View Figure 22 ). Gonocoxae apically sclerotized and longitudinal, with dense, long setae along lateral and apical margins (Figs 16I View Figure 16 , 19I View Figure 19 , 20I View Figure 20 , 22F View Figure 22 ). Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V with one pair of rounded ridges at middle and slightly concave between ridges in males (Figs 16H View Figure 16 , 19H View Figure 19 , 20H View Figure 20 , 22I View Figure 22 ); widely rounded in females (Figs 16G View Figure 16 , 20G View Figure 20 , 22H View Figure 22 ) except concave in those of P. igai (Fig. 19G View Figure 19 ). Mesotibia lacking apical spine in males and tarsomere I not modified.
Biology.
Larvae and adults feed on leaves of Acer species ( Sapindaceae ).
