TYPE LOCALITY: Chile, Straits of Magellan, Punta Arenas .

DISTRIBUTION: S. Chile; S. Argentina.

COMMENT: Cabrera, 1961:470, considered delfini a distinct species; Corbet and Hill, 1980:152, listed it as a subspecies of megalonyx .
