Remarks. First detailed records. Ectoedemia algeriensis was discovered in several localities in the ProvenceCôte d’Azur region, with numerous larvae collected on Quercus ilex and suber and a number of adults at light. Mines are inseparable from those of E. haraldi , E. ilicis , and E. heringella . Remarkably, E. algeriensis has not been found elsewhere in Europe; other records are from Algeria and Morocco, where it was found in the Atlas (van Nieukerken 1985b). The French specimens confirm the identity of the males from Morocco previously listed as Ectoedemia cf. algeriensis . Adults are very similar to the previous species but the thorax is white ( Fig. 30; see Figs 31–32 for the genitalia).
