Redescription. Measurements. Body—length (male) = 13.5–14.0 mm; length (female) = 16.0– 17.5 mm; width ratio elytra / pronotum = 1.0–1.1; length ratio elytra / middle of pronotum = 2.3–2.6. Clypeus—clypeal emargination width / depth ratio ca. 9.0. Antennae—length ratio of antennomere 3rd / 2nd ca. 2.0. Maxillary palpratio length of apical segment of maxillary palp/3rd antennal segment = 1.2–1.3 (female), 1.8-1.9 (male). Pronotum—middle of pronotum length / width ratio = 0.6–0.7; length ratio middle of pronotum length/anterior pronotal angles (from tip of anterior pronotal angle to tip of posterior pronotal angle) = 0.8–0.9. Elytra—elytra length / width ratio = 1.3–1.5. Scutellum—width ratio anterior margin of elytra / scutellum at base ca. 3.5. Metaventrite—length ratio cavity of hind coxa/metaventrite between the insertions of mid and hind coxae = 1.9– 2.0. Abdomen—width ratio process of I abdominal ventrite / process of metaventrite ca. 2.0. Both sexes legsprotibiae length / width ratio = 4.6–5.0; profemora length / width ratio = 3.5–3.6.
Habitus as in Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 7 .
Dorsal side of head shiny, with conspicuous punctures (less than 1 diameter apart). Frontoclypeal suture distinct. Clypeal emargination shallow. Eye slightly constricted in the middle by epistomal canthus (3 facets between gena and temple). Mentum with median part narrow. Submentum with elongate base.
Pronotal disc shiny, with visible punctures (0.5–1 diameters apart). Anterior pronotal angles sharp, strongly protruding towards apex. Anterior border of pronotum interrupted in the middle. Lateral sides marginated; rounded on the whole length. Posterior pronotal angles sharp; protruding towards elytra. Pronotal base with lateral arcuate indentations; marginated laterally ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13 – 16 ). Pronotal hypomeron shiny, with conspicuous punctures (0.5–2 diameter apart).
Elytral rows with coarse punctures (1 diameters apart). Intervals shiny, with fine punctures (2–3 diameters apart). Elytral base sinusoidal; intervals from 4th to 6th forms an appendix at elytral base. Elytral humeri rounded, not protruding laterad. Scutellum triangular. Epipleura with visible punctures (2 diameters apart).
Intercoxal process of prosternum straight with incomplete bordering ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 – 19 ).
Female abdominal process without tubercle. Punctuation of to first abdominal ventrites sparse (2 diameters apart).
Legs. Pro-, meso- and metatarsi narrow. Legs without denticles. Male mesotibiae flattened dorsoventraly.
Parameres and clavae narrowing evenly towards apex. Parameres equal to the 0.33 rest of aedeagal tegmen.
Paraproct slightly longer then coxites. First sclerite wide and short; sclerites 3rd and 4th narrow and long. Bursa copulatrix with ring-shaped sclerite in distal part. Spermatheca as in Fig. 12.
Distribution. This species has been collected in the following ecoregions: Northern Acacia - Commiphora bushlands and thickets, Northern Zanzibar-Inhambane coastal forest mosaic ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 ).
